l0 jewels of small  gardens set in the park-like grounds of the village, complete with dams
partly bordered with sleeping willows, small thatched bomas, a wooded copse on the
northern border, the 100-y’ear-old blue-gum trees reaching high alongside the river, which
flows on the eastern  side of this extensive property. The birdlife is abundant and varied.
A small  English country garden near the river contrasts with a fruit salad hotch-potch of
flowers. including verbena,columbines. clematis, ranunculus, pansies and moneywort
opposite another garden with  a brilliant display of azaleas in shades of pink, lilac and
white. A remarkable variety from the lush apartment garden to the breathtaking Japanese
cherry, blossoms next to a miniature bridge, then on to a dedicated rose lover whose
garden spills over into the public areas,a mini landscape created with Pelindaba rocks,
artistically placed statues. hanging baskets and pots and a part succulent garden of exotic
species. All full of ideas and an inspiration to every small garden owner.
